Portland MeFit Class Descriptions

Mat Pilates

Strengthening and stretching exercises designed to build strength in the core of the body; abdominals, gluts, and lower back. This class improves posture, balance, and flexibility.

Cardio Pump

This class is designed to give you an overall body workout with exercises that will challenge your muscular strength and endurance as well as your cardiovascular endurance.   Get motivated to push a little harder and last a little longer with one of our experienced and passionate fitness instructors.

Zumba

The fusing of Latin and International music creates an exciting mixture of dance and aerobics.  The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.

Yoga

From beginner to advanced, anyone can experience the physical and spiritual benefits of yoga.  From gentle yoga to power yoga, enjoy toning and strengthening your muscles in our wide range of classes.

Core Training

Improve your "core" strength to facilitate the transfer of power, speed and strength between upper and lower body movements, gain flexibility and most importantly to prevent injury to the spine, hips and lower back regions. Stability, flexibility and strength in this area of the body will help prevent orthopedic issues while maintaining a functional lifestyle and improve your game.

Every Core Class begins with a five minute dynamic warm-up.  Followed by an intense "core routine" that will help get you Beach Ready!  Bring a (crying) towel, some water, and we will provide the motivation.

Spin

The instructor sets the cadence for this self-paced cycling class, but your heart rate determines the level of intensity.  Beginners and experienced cyclists alike can experience this low impact high intensity cardiovascular workout that focuses on your quads, glutes, and hamstrings without pounding or straining the joints or connective tissues.

X-Spin

An energetic cardio-circuit workout beginning with 25 minutes on the bike, followed with 25 minutes of alternating cardio-strength-exercises designed to keep your heart rate and your body pumped up, then finish with 10 minutes of peaceful stretching to leave you feeling all Gumby like, ...except without the Green.

Yoga/Spin

Our Yoga/Spin combination class is a great introduction to both Yoga and Spinning.  Working with basic yoga poses as well as hip opening poses.  This class gives you a sample of spin and a taste of yoga, bringing length to your muscles after an intense workout.
